The food industry is subjected to very strict regulations. Some of these regulations often require a very specific thermal and hygrometric climate. Misting Group offers a wide range of professional high-pressure misting systems, allowing us to obtain and control this climate in an ecological and budget-friendly way.

All Misting Group products and parts are manufactured from materials that meet the imposed safety regulations for the food industry.

Attention: High-pressure misting is the only application that is allowed in the food industry. Ultrasone nebulization is not recommended by the FASFC, because the micro-droplets that are created by this application are too small to be sufficiently effective.

Misting systems for fish and shellfish

Misting Group high-pressure misting systems offer a natural solution (we only use water, no additives) to prevent the products from dehydration and thus increase the freshness of fish and shellfish.

Our 70 bar high-pressure mistings systems will produce a homogeneous mist of micro-droplets, which will increase the air humidity without wetting the products. This results in a better product quality, a longer shelf life and thus a higher financial return. Our systems are automated with air humidity sensors.

Advantages of high-pressure misting in the fish industry:

Avoid dehydration of the products

  • Taste preservation

  • The products shine and radiate freshness

  • Increased humidity keeps insects away from the products

  • Mist forms a natural barrier against odours

  • Weight preservation (dehydration = weight loss)

  • Longer preservation of the product’s quality

  • Misting initiates an adiabatic cooling process, extending the shelf life of the products

  • The system can also be used to disinfect rooms and materials. Disinfectants can be added to the mist via the integrated dosing pump.

Misting systems for meat and derivatives

Like all fresh products, meat also requires ideal climate conditions to maintain their freshness. When the air humidity level is too low, the risk for dehydration increases, which results in weight and quality loss.

Misting Group high-pressure misting systems (70 bar) will form a homogeneous mist of micro-droplets, increasing the air humidity without wetting the products. This process has a direct positive influence on the quality, the freshness and conservation time of the product and thus an increased financial return.
Our systems are automated with air humidity sensors.

There’s also a risk of dehydration when freezing meat products. This can be avoided by misting the meat products just before the freezing process is started.

Advantages of high-pressure misting in the fruit and vegetable trade:

  • Better preservation of freshness, texture and taste

  • Longer conservation time

  • Weight preservation (dehydration = weight loss)

  • Misting initiates an adiabatic cooling process, extending the shelf life of the products

  • The system can also be used to disinfect rooms and materials. Disinfectants can be added to the mist via the integrated dosing pump.

Misting systems for grains and cereals

In the storage and processing of grains and cereals, the required thermal en hygrometric climate depends strongly on the final purpose/product.

Misting Group high-pressure systems are for example frequently used in breweries and whisky distilleries, where the grains need to be humidified in order to initiate the germination process that is required for the release of the required enzymes.

In the production of flour, the grains must be separated from their hull. Therefore, the seeds need to be moistened with a Misting Group high-pressure misting system.

The Misting Group high-pressure misting system will produce a homogeneous mist of micro-droplets, increasing the humidity without wetting the product. The system can be fully automated with a humidity sensor.

Advantages of high-pressure misting:

  • Dust control: grain processing, as well as grain storage and transportation, causes a lot of dust overload. Thanks to the fine micro-droplets, the dust is controlled and further spread in the air is avoided.

  • Disinfection: the system can also be used to disinfect rooms, machinery and equipment. The integrated dosing pump allows us to add disinfectants to the mist.

Misting systems for farinaceous products

The relative humidity in bakeries has a direct effect on the quality of uncooked dough. Insufficient humidity will decrease the volume of the dough, resulting in lower production and a lower financial return.

Furthermore, a very fine layer of mist is nebulized over buns, pretzels and other bread products, just before they are being put in the oven, resulting in a nicely browned crust.

Extra advantages of high-pressure misting:

  • Dust suppression: In the processing of farinaceous products, a lot of flour and grains are being used, causing quite some dust. Misting Group high-pressure misting systems are the ideal solution to control this excess dust.

  • Adiabatic cooling: Ovens and other kitchen appliances generate a lot of heat. Thanks to the adiabatic cooling application of the Misting Group systems the temperature can easily be controlled and regulated.

  • Hygrometry : High-pressure misting systems are perfect to generate and maintain the ideal hygrometric conditions for an optimal dough.

Misting systems for fruit and vegetables

High-pressure misting is the ideal application to prevent product dehydration and weight loss in the fruit and vegetable trade.

This process has a direct positive influence on the quality, the freshness and conservation time of the product and thus an increased financial return.

  • better quality preservation

Misting systems for cheese

During the ripening process of cheeses, a specific and strict thermal and hygrometric climate is essential. Air humidity, for example, plays an important role in the prevention of dehydration of the cheeses. Too much humidity in the air, on the other hand, causes moisture deposits on the cheese, resulting in mold.

Cheese experts recommend a relative humidity of 70% - 80% during the drying process of the cheeses and 90% - 95% for the ripening process.

Misting Group high-pressure misting systems will create a homogeneous mist that will increase the humidity in the air without wetting the products.

The Misting Group system is automated with a humidity sensor, switching on the systems when a certain minimum value is reached, and switches it off again when a maximum value is measured.

Advantages of high-pressure misting in cheese production:

  • Weight preservation (dehydration = weight loss)

  • Hygrothermal climate regulation

  • Preservation of the taste

  • Longer conservation time

  • The system can also be used to disinfect rooms and materials. Disinfectants can be added to the mist via the integrated dosing pump.

Misting systems for incubators

Hatching eggs need to be kept in very precise conditions. A determining factor for the incubation is the humidity level in the incubator. The optimal thermal and hygrometrical climate that is required for laying hens can be created and maintained by a Misting Group high-pressure misting system.

To protect the chicks from dehydration, a relative humidity of 70% to 80% needs to be maintained before, during and a fwe days after the hatch. For this application, Misting Group high-pressure misting systems are automated with a temperature and humidity controller and sensor.

Extra advantages of high-pressure misting:

  • The system can also be used to clean and disinfect the incubators and materials. Disinfectants can be added to the mist via the integrated dosing pump.

  • The adiabatic cooling process that is initiated by the mist, will help us regulate the temperature in the incubators.
